Mannington Photo Run

Woodstown Central Railroad is proud to partner with the 1st Annual Salem County Film Festival.
Experience a special extended ride over the southern half of our line between Woodstown and Mannington. This 20‑mile roundtrip follows Salem County’s first railroad route, established in 1863, offering a journey through lush forests and some of New Jersey’s most scenic rural farmland aboard our authentically restored 1930s train.

Photo Run-Bys
The train will make dedicated photo stops where guests may safely deboard and capture the train performing run‑bys at track speed—perfect for photographers and railfans alike.
Each photo stop will be approximately 10 minutes for photos.

A Journey with a Meal

Climb aboard for an enriching journey over the tracks of the original Woodstown & Swedesboro Railroad built in 1883.
This 50-60 minute roundtrip will take you across peaceful Memorial Lake, through historic Woodstown, and over the Oldmans Creek Trestle as our Trainmen share what it was like to travel by rail in New Jersey nearly a century ago.
While onboard, indulge in a delectable feast featuring your choice of a meal provided by “The Quaker Baker”—all served on our luxurious 1930s-era table car.
Guests can choose from:
– Classic Turkey, Cheddar and Romaine on Ciabatta*
– Ham, Havarti and Arugula with Butter on Baguette*
– Hummus with Arugula and Roasted Red Pepper on Ciabatta*
*Sandwich boxes include a chocolate chip cookie, fruit salad cup and condiment packets
– Chicken Salad & Veggie Platter: chicken salad, carrot chips, celery sticks, grapes and crackers
Regarding alcohol, this excursion is BYOB. Please note food items may contain or come into contact with milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soy and/or sesame. Unfortunately, we are unable to make substitutions.

Brew to Brew

Calling all beer lovers! Our Brew to Brew train is an exclusive way of connecting two South Jersey Breweries. Travel aboard our vintage 1930’s passenger train, taking in the sights and sounds of beautiful Southern New Jersey, to the Swedesboro Brewing Co. for a 90 minute visit. Afterward, re-board the train and continue your journey to Farmers & Bankers Brewing for 90 minutes before returning back to South Woodstown station.
All passengers are now able to park and board the train at our South Woodstown Station instead of choosing which brewery to begin.
NATIONAL TRAIN DAY

Scenic Rambler

For Nation Train Day we are hosting our Scenic Rambler is a 32-mile roundtrip that will take passengers over the entirety of the Woodstown Central Railroad. This 2-hour excursion will take you through small towns, lush forests, and open farmland as we ramble our way through Woodstown, Swedesboro, and Salem.

The Woodstown Central Railroad is one of the most unique venues in the greater Philadelphia area. With train cars dating back to the 1930s, your trip over this historic rail line (circa 1883) will be an unforgettable experience for you and your guests.

Whether this is accommodating a large group on one of our excursions (10+ people), reserving your own private train car for a round-trip (1 or 2 hours), or even chartering the entire train for several hours, Woodstown Central Railroad is able to accommodate!

Classes of Service Available

Coach Class

Coach Class is our standard seating option. This 74-seat car features comfortable reversing seats which is great for families with young children or large groups. Coach Class comes with opening windows to provide fresh breeze, and is heated in the winter.

The Caboose

The Caboose is the most unique car on the train. Originally used as the crew office on the back of long freight trains, our historic 1937 caboose has been completely restored with a lush mahogany and maple interior. Our caboose features an upstairs cupola where passengers can sit and look out above the train. During colder months, our authentic coal burning stove keeps passengers warm in this cozy cabin on wheels.

Table Car

Our Table Car is one of our premium seating options and gives passengers a true first-class experience. This car features rich mahogany woodwork, brass fixtures, ambient lighting, and large booth-style tables that can seat up to four (4) people. Soft beverages and snacks are available à la carte through our dedicated First-Class Attendant.
This railcar can seat up to 48 people and can also be reserved for private groups and charters.

Open Air Gondola

Our Open Air Gondola offers passengers an unforgettable and immersive journey through the scenic countryside of Southern New Jersey. With no roof, windows, or doors, this railcar provides wide-open, unobstructed views and the refreshing feel of the wind in your hair. Elevated bench seating offers a comfortable and unique vantage point to take in the sights, sounds, and fresh air of our rural landscape.
Please note: This car is fully open to the elements. In the event of inclement weather, guests may be moved to indoor seating if space allows. We recommend bringing sunscreen, eye protection, and an umbrella when necessary.
